Leaders from Top Cong and Left parties hold discussions on poll alliance; next round of talks to take place soon

National leaders of the Congress and Left parties in Telangana have started discussions about forming a poll alliance. CPI national secretary K Narayana and visiting Congress leader K C Venugopal met on Wednesday night to expedite the next round of talks between the two parties. They discussed prospects at both the State and national level, as well as seat-sharing in the State.

The meeting was productive, and the Left parties will hold another round of talks with the Congress State leadership. The CPI and CPM are seeking at least four seats each, but the Congress is only ready for two each. The CPI proposed Munugode, Husnabad, Kothagudem, and Bellampalli, while the CPM sought Paleru, Ibrahimpatnam, and a few other seats.

This meeting between the top leaders is the highest level of discussion in the State recently. It comes after discussions between CPI State leaders and AICC Telangana in-charge Manickrao Thakre to form an alliance in the State.

Narayana explained that this meeting was part of efforts to synchronize with the I.N.D.I.A alliance at the national level. He also stated that the party has decided to distance themselves from parties that support the BJP. As KCR openly supports the BJP and both the Left and Congress have joined hands nationally, they want this reflected at the State level.

In conclusion, the national leaders of the Congress and Left parties in Telangana have begun talks about forming a poll alliance. The seat-sharing discussions are ongoing, and both parties are positive about it. They want to synchronize with the national alliance against the BJP and reflect this at the State level.
