Lightning strike in Warangal claims the lives of two farmers

In Hyderabad, a recent rain brought relief from severe heat, but also caused unexpected damage. Two farmers were killed by lightning in the Warangal joint district on the same day as a hailstorm hit the area. The hailstorm damaged crops like chilli, paddy, and papaya, leaving farmers with waterlogged fields.

One farmer, Bullaya, died in Eturu Nagaram of Mulugu district after being struck by lightning while another farmer was killed while trying to protect his dried chillies from the rain. In Koduru village of Raghunathapalli mandal, a 25-year-old farmer named Dasari Ajay lost his life to a lightning strike while tending to his farm. The lightning also struck a cow and calf on the farm.

In Bollaram of Wajedu mandal, a hut was hit by lightning, injuring the family inside. They were taken to Venkatapuram Hospital for treatment. The unexpected damage caused by the rain and lightning has left farmers and families in these areas in distress.
