For the past ten years, the proposed railway over bridge (RoB) at LC gate 250 near Bolarum Railway Station in Hyderabad has been delayed due to alignment issues with the state government. As a result, commuters and rail users are forced to wait for 30 to 45 minutes daily at the level crossing.

The local residents are frustrated with this ongoing problem and have appealed to the state government and South Central Railways to develop a RoB along with the improvement of Bolarum Railway Station. They point out that LC-250 is an important connection between National Highway-44 at Kompally and Rajiv Rahadari, and it experiences heavy traffic with hundreds of vehicles waiting. They also believe that developing Bolarum Railway Station Terminal 2 would greatly relieve congestion at Secunderabad and Kacheguda Railway Stations.

Murali Krishna, president of the Federation of New Bolarum Colonies (FNBC), explained that the proposed RoB has been delayed because the state government has not provided an alignment plan. He mentioned that multiple housing societies have been built in the area, making compensation expensive. The longer the delay, the more houses will be built, causing more inconvenience for the local public.

The residents of Bolarum and New Bolarum, one of the oldest areas in Hyderabad, have been facing various issues regarding railway development, including the construction of a RoB. The increasing number of vehicles and numerous railway gates, such as LC gate 250, have caused hardships for commuters who have to wait for hours when the rail gates are closed. It is crucial to build a RoB at this rail gate to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent productivity loss.

Raj Sekhar, a local resident, stated that they have submitted multiple RTIs and representations to both the state and central governments, but no concrete action has been taken. Crossing the rail gate continues to be a nightmare for the locals. He emphasized the need for the state government and railway officials to collaborate on this project. Additionally, rail users have been demanding the development of Bolarum Railway Station, which serves as a gateway station for northern Hyderabad.
