Hyderabad: Speculation is high about a Cabinet reshuffle happening soon. Madiga MLAs are pushing more strongly for their share in the Cabinet. On Wednesday, they intensified their demand. These MLAs have approached the AICC multiple times. They met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Meenakshi Natarajan, the AICC State in-charge.
Six MLAs submitted a request to the CM and then met the AICC in-charge at MLA Quarters. Adluri Laxman Kumar, the Dharmapuri MLA, led this group. They insist that Madigas should have Cabinet representation according to their population in the state. Their demands have grown louder over recent months.
This move follows a meeting held by the MLAs. They discussed how to continue their push for Cabinet inclusion. Manakondur MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Thungathurthi MLA Mandula Samuel, Chevella MLA Kale Yadaiah, and Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham attended. The last two joined virtually. They plan to meet top AICC leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and KC Venugopal, to emphasize the party’s social justice principles. Their urgency increased upon hearing that Gaddam Vivek, representing the Mala community, might be considered.
For months, especially after the Congress government approved 42% BC reservation, groups like the Madigas, Lambada (ST), and other BCs have been advocating for their communities’ inclusion in the Cabinet.
