Mahabubnagar (Padmavati Colony): On Friday, MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy emphasized the importance of continuing the ideals of Sri Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy during his 156th birth anniversary celebration.
The event, hosted by the Palamuru Reddy Seva Samiti in Padmavati Colony, saw MLA Srinivas Reddy as the chief guest. He pledged to uphold the principles set by Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy.
The MLA paid floral tributes at Venkata Rama Reddy’s statue in the Green Belt area of Padmavati Colony, Mahabubnagar.
In his speech, Srinivas Reddy highlighted how, in the past, facilities for poor students were lacking. Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy established a hostel in Hyderabad that accepted students irrespective of caste or religion, making education accessible to the underprivileged. He also founded the Reddy Women’s College in Narayanguda over a hundred years ago, believing that educating women would uplift society.
Srinivas Reddy noted that a hostel inspired by Venkata Rama Reddy in Mahabubnagar is now temporarily used by IIIT College. He encouraged everyone to support educational initiatives and contribute to a fund aiding poor students’ education.
The program attracted several attendees, including TPCC General Secretary Mithun Reddy, Rajender Reddy, Palamuru Reddy Association President Toomu Indrasena Reddy, General Secretary Vepuri Rajender Reddy, and other notable members such as Mallu Narsimha Reddy, Manohar Reddy, Maddi Yadireddy, Maddi Anantha Reddy, Vithal Reddy, P. Raghurami Reddy, Saraswati, Swaroopa, Shobha, and Vanaja.
