Hyderabad recently celebrated a significant event at Mahindra University. The university honored 956 graduates during its fourth annual convocation at the Bahadurpally campus. Among these students, 943 came from engineering, management, law, and education disciplines, while 13 were PhD scholars. Proud families, faculty, and notable guests attended the ceremony.
G V Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, served as the Chief Guest. Anand Mahindra, the university’s Chancellor, led the event, joined by important figures like Mohit Joshi, CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra, and Vice Chancellor Dr Yajulu Medury.
In his speech, Prasad inspired graduates to work together and create innovative communities and workplaces. He stressed the importance of lifelong learning and overcoming personal limits.
Anand Mahindra spoke about the university’s goal to educate individuals who contribute to a better world. He encouraged graduates to become both inheritors and creators of the future, focusing on values like sustainability, inclusivity, and justice.
This convocation was special as it was the first for new programs including MBA, LLB, MA, and B. Tech in Nanotechnology.
Mohit Joshi highlighted the need for professionals who merge different fields to innovate with purpose. He also mentioned the strengthening link between the university and industry, with Tech Mahindra playing a crucial part.
Earlier, Prasad and Mahindra opened new biotechnology labs. Mahindra also launched the Centre for Risk Management recently. These initiatives show the university’s commitment to research and innovation.
