A group of All-India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLAs met with Dana Kishore, the Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, to express concerns about an “illegal” survey conducted on the Musi River. They claimed that the survey was done without proper legal authorization.
The delegation was led by Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, along with other MLAs Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, Mohammed Mubeen, and Mir Zulfeqar Ali. The group raised concerns about demolitions happening as part of the Musi Riverfront development project.
The MLAs asked for details about the survey, including when it was conducted, the legal basis for it, and whether a notification was issued before the survey to outline the boundaries of the full tank level and buffer zone. They also questioned if different departments, such as Revenue and Irrigation, were involved in the process. Additionally, they wanted to know why a re-survey was being conducted, and whether boundaries established in 2003 were considered before the demolition work began.
A day earlier, AIMIM leaders protested at the Bahadurpura Mandal office against the demolitions taking place along the Musi River. During the protest, four corporators were detained, and demonstrators chanted slogans such as “CM down, down.”
