The last rites of Army jawan Pabbala Anil were held at his native village of Malkapur in Sircilla district on Saturday. Anil, who was 30 years old, died in a helicopter crash in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. His body was brought back to his village in the morning.
A funeral procession was held from Gangadhara chowk to the Malkapur burial ground, with many villagers and family members in attendance. Army officials made arrangements for the funeral. Several political leaders, including BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar and TS planning board vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar, paid their respects to Anil.
Anil is survived by his wife Saujanya and two sons, Aayan and Aro. He had joined the army ten years ago and had visited his hometown on leave 45 days ago.
