Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy made a surprising statement on Thursday, claiming that the Income-Tax officers did not search his “locker room” where he had hidden money. He mentioned that he intends to use this money for the upcoming elections. During a conversation with reporters in the Assembly lobby on the first day of the monsoon session, Reddy revealed, “The IT personnel overlooked a room containing money. I am currently using this money and will use it as campaign expenses in the next election. I have been donating Rs 5 lakh to 500 temples in my constituency.”

In addition, the minister humorously stated that he holds authority over the Congress party’s ticket distribution. When questioned further, he confidently asserted that he even decides the candidates for opposition parties. Reddy admitted that he ensured K Laxma Reddy received the Congress ticket in the previous elections due to his connections with the party high command. He also claimed responsibility for creating conflicts among different groups within the Congress. Furthermore, Reddy expressed that his political influence grew after challenging TPCC Chief A Revanth Reddy by flapping his thigh.

When asked about the development works he has undertaken in his constituency, Reddy lamented that people tend to forget about them and instead believe the provocative words of the opposition.
