Man arrested with fake currency worth Rs 15 lakh

Hyderabad: The Bachupally Police have arrested a man involved in fake currency distribution. Authorities took Rs 15 lakh in counterfeit money from him.

The suspect, Prathipati Prem Chandu, hails from West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He met Rakesh, who lives in Pune, Maharashtra, and learned about making easy money by spreading fake notes. Following Rakesh’s plan, Prem agreed to distribute these notes in Hyderabad for a commission.

K Suresh Kumar, DCP of Balanagar Zone, Cyberabad, stated that on June 21 around 3:30 pm, Prem was caught near Nizampet Arch, Nizampet Village. He was about to hand over Rs 15,00,000 in fake Rs 500 notes.

Acting on a tip-off, Bachupally Police officers arrested Prem at the scene. They confiscated the fake currency and a mobile phone.

Prem Chandu was brought before the Magistrate, who placed him in judicial custody.
