In Hyderabad, tensions are rising within the Congress party in the old Warangal region due to conflicts between two major groups. AICC State in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan has instructed the PCC’s Disciplinary Action Committee to address and resolve these issues before they escalate.
Upon her arrival in Hyderabad, a group of legislators, led by Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, expressed their grievances to Natarajan. They complained about disrespectful remarks made by Minister Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali. After hearing their concerns, Natarajan decided to hold a meeting on Tuesday with the Disciplinary Action Committee. The newly appointed DAC chairman, Mallu Ravi, will work with Natarajan to address problems not only in Warangal but in other districts too.
In a press briefing, Mallu Ravi acknowledged receiving complaints from Warangal and Gajwel. He plans to discuss these issues with Natarajan and take appropriate actions in line with the party’s policies. He emphasized that any breaches of party discipline will be dealt with fairly. Meanwhile, PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud is monitoring the situation and has received a report to help calm both factions.
On June 19, during a speech for Rahul Gandhi’s birthday, Murali criticized Kadiyam Srihari and Parkal legislator R Prakash Reddy, accusing them of betraying their former parties. He also targeted several other leaders. In response, the legislators, along with District President Naini Rajender Reddy, held meetings and personally complained to PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud. Tensions further escalated when it was revealed that the Konda couple’s daughter plans to run for the Parkal seat in the next elections, challenging current representative Prakash Reddy.
