Hyderabad is known for its famous Biryani and one of the well-known hotels in the city that serves this dish is Meridian Hotel in Panjagutta. However, a recent incident took place at this hotel where a customer who came to eat Biryani was tragically murdered.
The incident occurred when a man named Liyakat from old town Chandrayanagutta requested extra curd from the hotel staff. This simple request turned into a fight, leading to the staff attacking Liyakat without any restraint. The Panjagutta police were informed about the situation and arrived at the scene. They then took both Liyakat and the Meridian Hotel staff to the police station.
Unfortunately, while at the police station, Liyakat lost consciousness and was immediately rushed to the nearby Deccan Hospital. Despite receiving treatment, he sadly passed away. His body was then transferred to Gandhi Hospital mortuary.
Upon learning about the incident, Liyakat’s relatives gathered near Deccan Hospital and expressed their anger. They believe that his death could have been prevented if he had been taken to the hospital instead of being taken to the police station after the attack. MIM MLC Mirza Rahmat Beigh reached the Panjagutta police station and spoke to the police, urging them to bring justice to the victim’s family. The police have registered a case and are currently interrogating the staff members of Meridian Hotel.
