Youth and children in Hyderabad actively participated in the Assembly elections this year. They volunteered at polling booths to assist senior citizens and guide voters. Students from Government High School, Moulali, helped senior citizens at polling booths by assisting them with wheelchairs and encouraging them to vote. Some students even held placards to motivate people passing by to vote.
In another initiative to encourage voting, NCC women cadres played rhythmic music outside a polling booth in SR Nagar. Ramesh, a second-year intermediate student, explained that he and his friends helped voters at polling centers in Amberpet to ensure smooth polling for senior citizens. T Anil, a class 10 student, shared that their teachers asked them to volunteer as guides for voters who had trouble finding their polling booths.
According to the Election Commission of India, this year around 75 polling stations in Hyderabad district were set up with different themes. Each constituency had five thematic polling stations, some of which were managed by youth and women volunteers.
