Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President, A Revanth Reddy, is trying to bring his senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader friends into his party in Telangana. He recently met with senior TDP leader Mandava Venkateswara Rao and invited him to join the Congress party. Revanth even promised to give Rao a party ticket to contest from Nizamabad (Rural) Assembly constituency.

Mandava had distanced himself from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and is eager to resume his political career in Nizamabad district. The Congress party is willing to support him and wants him to lead the party in the district.
