Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President, A Revanth Reddy, is trying to bring his senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader friends into his party in Telangana. He recently met with senior TDP leader Mandava Venkateswara Rao and invited him to join the Congress party. Revanth even promised to give Rao a party ticket to contest from Nizamabad (Rural) Assembly constituency.

Mandava had distanced himself from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and is eager to resume his political career in Nizamabad district. The Congress party is willing to support him and wants him to lead the party in the district.

Revanth Reddy also met with another senior TDP leader, Revuri Prakash Reddy, and extended an invitation to join the Congress party. Reddy is interested in contesting from the Parakala Assembly segment. Both Mandava and Reddy were close associates of TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu. Revanth is using his connection with Naidu to bring inactive senior TDP leaders into the Congress party and utilize their political experience for the upcoming Assembly elections.
