Minister Seethakka Opens Silk Show, Calls for Lower GST on Handloom Weavers

Minister Seethakka opened the Silk Exhibition at Sathya Sai Nigamagam, promoting a reduction in GST for handloom goods. She encouraged people to wear handloom items to help weavers.

The exhibition features over 70 stalls with stunning sarees and silk fabrics from across India, linking consumers with talented artisans.

Students from Growing Roots School participated in a session by Central Silk Board experts, where they learned about silkworms and silk production.

Organizers highlighted the need to purchase certified silk products to support India’s rich handloom tradition.
