Hyderabad, 2 August 2025: IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu announced that the Congress-led Praja Prabhu government is actively implementing welfare programs. The focus is on meeting public needs and ensuring social justice.
The announcement came during a ration card distribution event at Kothakapu Yadava Reddy Gardens in Karmanghat, LB Nagar. Present were Government Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, MLC Boggarapu Dayanand, former MP Madhuyashki Goud, and several other officials including Malreddy Ramreddy, Challa Narasimha Reddy, and Daripalli Rajasekhar Reddy.
Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized the government’s dedication to addressing public expectations. He criticized the former BRS government for not issuing new ration cards and leaving the state with a debt of ₹8 lakh crore and a monthly interest of ₹7,000 crore.
Despite financial difficulties, the government is providing 6 kg of free rice per person through the ration card scheme. They have also introduced housing initiatives for the homeless and poor.
The minister highlighted that over 65,000 government positions have been filled, and Group-I exams have resumed after a decade. Additionally, 200 units of electricity are offered free, and a new law grants 42% reservations for Backward Classes. He urged BJP MPs and MLAs to secure the President’s approval for the law.
Supporting these statements, Patnam Mahender Reddy confirmed the government’s dedication to welfare and development. MLC Dayanand and Malreddy Ramreddy accused the previous BRS administration of breaking promises.
The event was attended by officials like former corporator Lakshmi Prasanna Rammohan Goud, Kandukur RDO Jagadishwar Reddy, and others including tehsildars Venugopal and Janaki, DSO Vanajatha, ASO Pullaiah, and GHMC Deputy Commissioners Sujatha, Vaikuntam, and Suryaprakash Gupta.
