Deputy Chief Minister aims to supply reliable power to all remote areas

Wanaparthy District: On Saturday, a new 33/11 KV power substation was opened in Velaturu village, Chinnambavi mandal, costing Rs. 2.2 crore. The event was led by State Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, alongside State Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi.

Key figures attending included Planning Commission Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy, SPDCL CMD Musharraf Ali Farooqui, and local MLAs such as Thudi Megha Reddy and Kuchukulla Rajesh Reddy. DCCB Chairman Mamillapalli Vishnu Vardhan Reddy also participated.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering reliable power to remote areas of Telangana. The Velaturu substation is part of this initiative. Additionally, a foundation stone for a 132/33 KV substation, costing Rs. 49.86 crore in Panagal mandal, was laid. Another 33/11 KV substation, costing Rs. 2.02 crore, will be set up in Jammapur village of Panagar mandal. These projects aim to link with 15 more 33/11 KV substations. Four more substations will be introduced in Vennancherla and Marikal villages in Koderu mandal.

In Velaturu, the substation supports 950 borewells and 600 homes through three feeders. These feeders will deliver stable, three-phase electricity to six villages: Velatur, Chinna Mahadev, Ayyavaripalli, Kaluru, Venkatampalli, and Solipur. This infrastructure will address power issues for local homes and farms.

The event also saw participation from District SP Ravula Giridhar, Additional Collector Subramanyam, T.G.S.P.D.C.L. S. E. U. Balaswamy, and D. E. Srinivas. Community leaders and officials, including Library Chairman Govardhan Sagar and Congress leaders Kotha Kalyan Rao, Jupally Arun, and Rajendra Prasad, were present.
