A 17-year-old boy was allegedly murdered following a late-night altercation at a juice center in Tolichowki during the early hours of Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Gulrez, son of Mohammed Shabaz, a native of Bishanthpur in Bihar, who was working as a labourer at Nice Juice Center in Tolichowki.
According to initial information, at around 2:30 AM on April 8, 2026, a quarrel broke out between Gulrez and Mofil, son of Sayed, aged about 19 years. Mofil is also a resident of Bishanthpur in Bihar and was working as a chola maker at the same juice center. The altercation escalated quickly between the two young workers from the same native place.
During the altercation, Mofil allegedly attacked Gulrez with a chola-making iron bar, hitting him on the head about five times. The brutal attack caused severe injuries to the minor labourer. The weapon used in the assault was a tool commonly used in their line of work at the juice center.
Gulrez was immediately taken to Apple Hospital in Tolichowki, but the hospital reportedly refused admission citing his extremely critical condition and very high blood pressure. He was then shifted to ABS Hospital located in Podium Mall, Tolichowki, where medical staff attempted to treat his severe head injuries.
According to the statement of the deceased’s brother-in-law, Gulrez succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. It is also alleged that the juice center owner initially attempted to conceal the incident from the victim’s relatives. The family members were reportedly not informed immediately about the severity of the situation.
Further details are awaited, and police investigation is expected to follow. Authorities are likely to examine the circumstances that led to the violent altercation between the two young workers from Bihar who were employed at the same establishment.
