Hyderabad is getting ready to host the Miss World 2025 pageant starting May 10, and the city is tightening security ahead of the international event. This follows a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people lost their lives.
To prevent any threats during the 20-day event, the Telangana government is putting strong security measures in place. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with top police officials to discuss the situation. He asked for updates on security warnings issued by the Union Home Ministry after the Pahalgam incident.
During the meeting, DGP Dr. Jitendar and Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand assured the CM that the city is already on high alert. They confirmed that advanced security equipment is being installed at key venues, including HICC and Pochampally, where parts of the pageant will take place.
The Chief Minister instructed the police and tourism departments to create a full-proof security and safety plan. This includes protecting international guests at the airport, hotels, and all event locations.
Jayesh Ranjan, the Special Chief Secretary for Tourism, has been tasked with coordinating the security efforts alongside state police and central security agencies. The goal is to provide top-level protection throughout the event.
To promote Telangana as a global tourist destination, CM Revanth Reddy also directed the tourism department to design special travel packages. These will highlight the state’s famous sites, including Charminar, Golconda Fort, Ramappa Temple, and Yadagirigutta Temple. Popular recreation spots along the Krishna and Godavari rivers will also be part of the tour plans.
The government is arranging special transportation services for visitors and assigning officers to oversee preparations in each department. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is speeding up city beautification projects. Flyovers, major junctions, and areas like Hitec City are being cleaned and decorated to welcome international guests.
With thousands of tourists and delegates expected from around the world, Hyderabad is preparing to shine on the global stage while ensuring strict security for everyone involved.
