Hyderabad came alive with energy and pride as it hosted the Miss World Sports Day 2025 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. The event gathered contestants from around the world, who joined not only to compete but also to celebrate strength, culture, and unity.
The excitement kicked off with a thrilling flash mob by Deeksha Dance Studio, filling the stadium with vibrant energy. As the participants arrived, they were welcomed with cheers and guided to hydration and warm-up stations, preparing them for a day of intense sports and celebration.
Before the games began, the crowd enjoyed a showcase of India’s rich heritage. Mallakhamb athletes, including gold medalists Rishab Ghubde and Sanavi Vaibhav Desai, stunned the audience with their acrobatic skills on ropes and poles. Following them, gymnasts Nishka Agarwal and Surabhi Prasanna delivered a flawless performance, showcasing grace and discipline.
The stage then shifted to soulful movement and martial arts. Guru K. Dattatreya and his team led an Artistic Yoga session, blending movement with mindfulness. The martial art Thang-Ta from Manipur, demonstrated by Guru Sapam Inaobi Singh, highlighted India’s fierce and artistic combat traditions. Roller-skating artist Anup Kumar Yama and his group added a playful touch with synchronized moves, while the Isha Foundation’s Yoga Namaskar helped center the contestants before the competition.
The grand opening ceremony reached its peak when Shri Jupally Krishna Rao, Telangana’s Minister for Prohibition & Excise, Tourism, Culture & Archaeology, lit the ceremonial torch. The crowd stood in silence as the National Anthem echoed through the arena, marking the official start of the Sports Day.
The event wasn’t just about elegance—it was about power, speed, and teamwork. Participants from Asia & Oceania, Africa, Europe, and the Americas & Caribbean faced off in a variety of challenges. These included badminton, shot put, football penalty shootouts, chess, and basketball.
The Shuttle Fitness Run tested each team’s coordination and endurance. A surprise round of kabaddi thrilled the audience, while the badminton finals and a fast-paced sprint relay kept the energy high. Every event showcased not only athletic skill but also the contestants’ determination and unity.
As the day neared its end, a lively Zumba session had everyone dancing together. Led by a professional instructor, the contestants moved with joy and confidence, closing the event on a high note.
To mark the end of the celebration, all participants gathered for a group photo and received medals and tokens—capturing the spirit of the day in one powerful moment.
Earlier that week, the Miss World contestants from Asia explored the ancient Pillalamarri banyan tree in Telangana. The tree, over 700 years old, symbolizes the deep cultural roots of the region.
