BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy Arrested by Karimnagar Police
BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy was arrested on Monday by the Karimnagar police from Jubilee Hills. The arrest was connected to an alleged attack on Jagtial MLA Dr. Sanjay.
The Karimnagar One Town Police booked three cases against Kaushik Reddy before taking him into custody. The incident stemmed from a heated exchange between Kaushik Reddy and Sanjay during a meeting at the Karimnagar District Collectorate on Sunday.
During the meeting, Kaushik Reddy reportedly objected to Sanjay speaking and questioned his political affiliation. The situation escalated, and the two came close to a physical altercation. Sanjay, who had won his seat on a BRS ticket but later joined the Congress party, was involved in the altercation in the presence of Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu. Police had to intervene and remove Kaushik Reddy from the venue.
On Monday night, Kaushik Reddy was taken to Karimnagar for further questioning. Meanwhile, Sanjay lodged a complaint with Assembly Speaker G. Prasad Kumar, accusing Kaushik Reddy of verbally abusing him and urging the Speaker to take appropriate action against the Huzurabad MLA.
