The Income Tax department shocked Medchal MLA Mallareddy by conducting searches at Mallareddy Colleges due to allegations of selling management quota seats at high fees. This has caused tension at Mallareddy Agriculture University where 40 students were detained, leading to anger from students and parents who feel their lives are being played with for profit. There are also accusations of improper accounting practices.

The IT officials are focusing on how much the management quota seats were sold for and how much fees students are paying. They have seized college records and taken them to their office for further investigation. College management and staff have already been questioned, and it is suspected that there are assets in excess of reported income in the names of relatives.
