In Nakrekal, part of Nalgonda, several villages in Ketepally mandal saw the start of new housing projects under the Indiramma housing scheme. Villages like Kasanagodu, Bopparam, Gudivada, Ippalagudem, and Korlapahad were included.
Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham expressed joy at the event, noting many poor families have lacked proper homes for a decade.
“Our government approved 3,500 houses for this area,” he stated. “Today, the beneficiaries are visibly happy.”
He criticized the previous administration for failing to deliver on the double-bedroom scheme, which left many villages without promised houses.
“There remain many who need homes in these villages,” he added. “We’ve asked for another 3,500 houses and will ensure every needy family gets one.”
The MLA congratulated those whose house foundations began on Monday, saying, “The government releases funds every Monday. If people build wisely with the Rs 5 lakh grant, it will be a great success without extra cost.”
