Mahabubnagar MLA Accuses KCR's Family of Political Manipulations

Mahabubnagar: Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy has made serious allegations against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his family. He claimed that they are involved in politics with “criminal intent.” His comments come after recent unrest in Kodangal, where a farmers’ protest allegedly turned violent. This incident led to attacks on district officials and the arrest of 16 people, including former Kodangal MLA Patnam Narender Reddy.

Reddy accused KCR’s son, KT Rama Rao (KTR), of being responsible for instigating the violence in Kodangal and supporting attacks on officials. He also claimed that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government had imposed an “undeclared emergency” over the last decade. According to Reddy, the government has been suppressing opposition voices by enforcing house arrests and restricting protests against its policies.

In a direct attack on KTR, Reddy mentioned KTR’s recent visit to Delhi. He alleged that KTR was trying to negotiate with central authorities to avoid being arrested. “KTR fears his arrest and is trying to influence central leaders to escape this situation,” Reddy stated.

Reddy also brought up the BRS government’s acquisition of 12,000 acres for the Pharma City project in Mucherla. He noted that opposition leaders had supported the project at the time because they saw the economic benefits it would bring. However, he criticized BRS leaders for now causing problems when the Congress party is working with farmers on a similar project in Kodangal, which is a backward region in need of industrial investment.

According to Reddy, the Congress government aims to promote industrialization in Kodangal to create local jobs and boost development. He accused BRS leaders of trying to stir up unrest among farmers to obstruct these efforts.
