Anand Mahindra, a successful industrialist who used to manufacture automobiles, is now interested in making Bollywood and Tollywood films. He has a passion for cinema and studied filmmaking at Harvard. He wants to contribute to India’s media and entertainment industry by investing in media ventures. Mahindra recently asked Rajamouli, the director of Baahubali and RRR, to consider making a movie on the Indus Valley Civilisation era. Rajamouli responded by sharing an anecdote about an ancient tree that inspired him to work on a movie about the rise and fall of the Indus Valley Civilisation. Mahindra encouraged Rajamouli to pursue this idea. The Twitter thread that started the conversation featured ancient cities of the Indus Valley Civilisation, including Harappa, Mohenjo Daro, Dholavira, Lothal, Kalibangan, Banawali, Rakhigarhi, Surkotada, Chanhu Daro, and Rupar.
