Clashes occurred at various locations in assembly constituencies during the state’s assembly elections on Thursday. The police intervened and separated the conflicting groups near the polling booths. They also used lathi-charge in some instances. Tension arose near a polling booth in Mannanur, Amrabad mandal of Nagarkurnool when a clash broke out between Congress party and BRS party members. The police dispersed both groups. Another clash took place between Congress and BRS party members in Nayakangudem, Kusumanchi mandal of Khammam district, resulting in injuries to several Congress workers.
In Bhainsa town, Nirmal district, police stopped individuals wearing saffron scarves from casting their votes, leading to an argument and scuffle with the police. A scuffle also occurred between BRS and Congress party workers at a polling booth in Khanapur, Ibrahimpatnam constituency, where the police had to use lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.
A clash ensued when BJP and BRS party leaders arrived at booth no. 244 in Jangaon town. The situation was brought under control after the police dispersed both groups involved in the scuffle. BRS and Congress leaders gathered at shatpally polling station in Yellareddy, Kamareddy district, but were dispersed by the police.
A dispute broke out at a polling station in Bodhan, Nizamabad district, where BRS and Congress leaders clashed at the Vijayamary polling station. The police used lathi-charge to disperse them. In Vikarabad district, clashes occurred between BRS and Congress workers, leading to the police dispersing both groups with lathi-charge.
Similar clashes between BRS and Congress workers took place in Achampet constituency, specifically at Vankeshwaram in Padara mandal, where both groups attacked each other with sticks, causing multiple injuries.
