Hyderabad: As counting continued across Telangana’s municipalities and municipal corporations, trends available till 3 PM indicate a strong performance by the Congress (INC), with the party leading in a majority of declared wards.
Out of 2,996 total wards across the state, results have been declared for 1,970 wards so far. According to the latest figures, the Congress has secured 1,047 wards, emerging as the clear frontrunner in the ongoing municipal elections.

The Congress has established a strong lead across several districts including Nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam, Peddapalli, Nagarkurnool, and parts of Sangareddy and Karimnagar.
Key District Trends
In Nalgonda district, Congress performed strongly in Miryalguda, Devarakonda, and Haliya. In Suryapet, the party dominated in Kodada and Suryapet municipalities. Similarly, in Khammam district, Congress secured significant leads in Madhira and Kalluru.
The BRS maintained a strong presence in districts such as Rajanna Sircilla, Medak, Siddipet, and parts of Sangareddy and Rangareddy. In Sircilla, BRS secured a dominant tally.
The BJP recorded notable wins in municipalities like Kamareddy, Narayanpet, Huzurabad, and select pockets in Adilabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri.
AIMIM secured wards primarily in select urban pockets including Bodhan and Bhainsa.
Corporations Await Full Results
Results in major municipal corporations such as Nizamabad MC, Karimnagar MC, Kothagudem MC, and others are still awaited, with counting either ongoing or yet to conclude in several wards.
