Elections took place in Telangana on the 11th of this month for seven municipal corporations and 116 municipalities. Today, Friday, votes are being counted at 136 centers.
The ruling Congress party is performing well across all districts and has already won the most seats. However, there is still a tight race between Congress and the opposition BRS party in many places. So far, 11 municipalities have not produced a clear winner. In these areas, independent candidates and ex-officio members will likely be important.
The municipalities without a clear majority include Parakala, Alampur, Narsapur, Sangareddy (Jinnaram), Kesamudram, Isnapur, Asifabad, Jammikunta, Janagama, Kamareddy, and Amarachinta.
