The Telangana Municipal Elections 2026 have shown a clear lead for the Congress party as results were announced for 448 wards by 12 PM on counting day. According to the latest updates, Congress has won 240 wards, establishing a dominant position across various municipal bodies in the state. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) follows with 140 wards, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 37 wards. The results indicate a significant shift in the political landscape of local governance in Telangana, with voters showing their preference through these municipal elections.

Among the smaller parties and regional players, the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) has managed to win six wards, demonstrating its presence in select pockets. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) secured one ward, while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) also won one ward.
