Former BRS leader Mynampalli Hanmantha Rao is set to join the Congress party on September 27. In the presence of Kharge in Delhi, along with his son Rohit, he will officially join the party. Party MLAs Duddilla Sridharbabu, TPCC executive presidents Maheshkumar Goud and Anjankumar Yadav will visit Mynampally’s residence on Monday to invite him into the party.

The Congress leadership has given permission for Mynampalli’s son to contest for the Malkajigiri seat and Medak seat, which has led to speculation that Mynampalli is ready to join the party. Along with Mynampally, four other BRS corporators will also join the Congress party.

Before the Assembly elections, the ruling BRS party faced a setback when Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao announced his resignation from the party on September 23. He made this announcement through a video. Sources say that the MLA has held talks with senior Congress leaders and has requested two tickets for himself and his son to contest in the upcoming polls.

Rao is confident that he will receive a positive response from the Congress party and plans to join with a big rally in the presence of senior Congress leaders. He had criticized Health Minister T Harish Rao for not granting a party ticket to his son. Interestingly, despite Rao’s criticism, the CM announced him as the party candidate. The BRS party has not taken any action against him so far.
