Tollywood, the Telugu film industry, has recently been dealing with a drug case. The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) has arrested multiple people, including movie financiers. One of the actors, Navdeep, was also questioned by the authorities. On September 5, director Mantena Vasuvarma was arrested by the Madhapur police in connection with the same case.
In June, film writer Manneri Prithvikrishna, also known as Diwakar, and Pune-based event organizer Rahul Telore were arrested for their involvement in the drug case. The police seized 70 grams of cocaine from them during the arrest on June 19. As the investigation progressed, Vasuvarma’s name emerged, leading to his arrest on September 5. The police have stated that Victor, a drug supplier based in Mumbai, is currently on the run.
