Nagarjunasagar reservoir is experiencing a significant increase in water inflow from upstream sources. As a result, water is being released through 26 gates.
Officials state that 1.76 lakh cusecs of water are flowing into the reservoir, while 2.56 lakh cusecs are being released downstream. The water level is at 585.10 feet, close to the maximum capacity of 590 feet.
The reservoir can store up to 312 TMC, and it currently holds 297.72 TMC of water.
The sight of water rushing through the open gates is attracting many tourists, keen to see this impressive display at one of the state’s key reservoirs.
