Hyderabad: Two students from Narayana Educational Institutions, Banibrata Majee and Akshat Srivastava, have achieved a remarkable feat by winning gold medals at the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA). This prestigious event took place in Mumbai from August 11th to 21st, 2025. Competing against 300 young talents from around the world, these students represented India and stood out in the field of astronomy and astrophysics.
Their success contributed significantly to India’s outstanding performance, with the national team securing a total of four gold medals and one silver medal. Impressively, two of these golds were earned by students from Narayana.
The IOAA is known for its rigorous academic challenges. Participants are tested on their theoretical knowledge, data analysis abilities, and observational skills in astronomy and astrophysics. This victory highlights the exceptional talent and hard work of the students, showcasing their brilliance and perseverance on a global stage.
