Hanumakonda: Former Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar announced that the upcoming ‘Rajatotsavam’ public meeting will be a grand event that draws national attention to Telangana. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday at the event site in Elkathurthi, he said all preparations will be completed two days ahead of the meeting.
He shared that arrangements are in place to provide drinking water and buttermilk to people coming from across the State. He also appreciated the farmers for willingly allowing the use of their agricultural lands for the event. Around 1,200 acres will be set aside for parking, and 2,000 volunteers will help manage traffic.
Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav compared the scale of the meeting to the famous Kumbh Mela. He highlighted that the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) party stands out from other political parties in India. He recalled that the party was formed to achieve a separate Telangana State. Yadav praised KCR (K. Chandrashekar Rao) for resigning in 2001 and leading a 14-year-long struggle that inspired people from all walks of life.
He criticized the Congress party for announcing statehood in 2009 just to stop KCR’s protest, only to go back on their word later. He emphasized that Telangana was not given easily — it was earned through hard work and determination. Yadav credited KCR for the creation of Telangana in 2014 and for serving as its Chief Minister for ten years.
During KCR’s leadership, Yadav said, many welfare programs were introduced that didn’t exist in other states. He mentioned schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema as examples. According to him, KCR’s leadership helped make Telangana the top state in terms of development and welfare.
Yadav also said that people are unhappy with the government elected in 2023 and now want KCR to return to power. The press conference was attended by MLA Mutha Gopal, MLCs Pochampally Srinivas Reddy and Takkallapalli Ravinder Rao, along with former chairpersons and local leaders.
