    Navjot Singh Sidhu, a Congress leader and former cricketer, is set to be released from Patiala’s central jail on Saturday after spending almost 10 months there. A large crowd of Congress leaders and supporters have gathered outside the prison to welcome the 59-year-old politician upon his release. They have arranged for ‘dhol’ players to play music in celebration of his freedom. Sidhu’s son, Karan Sidhu, expressed his family’s excitement for his father’s release from jail, stating that it had been a difficult time for them. Supporters of Sidhu have put up posters and hoardings throughout Patiala city to welcome him back.
