    A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, 14th July 2021, when a Navy officer from Andhra Pradesh passed away due to a parachute malfunction in West Bengal. The officer, identified as Lieutenant Rajeev Jha, was a part of a Naval detachment that was undergoing a routine training exercise in the state. The incident took place at around 11:45 am when Lt. Jha was descending from a height of 6,000 feet during a jump. The parachute malfunctioned, and he fell to the ground, suffering severe injuries that proved to be fatal.

    The news of Lt. Jha’s untimely demise has sent shockwaves throughout the country, especially in his hometown of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. He was an accomplished officer who had served in the Navy for over six years and was highly respected by his colleagues and superiors.
