Ajit Pawar, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), did not attend a meeting of his party’s Mumbai unit, causing speculation about his future plans. Pawar explained that he had other commitments at the same time and asked reporters not to make too much of his absence. The NCP convention was held in Mumbai and included speeches from party chief Sharad Pawar and other senior leaders.
