Hyderabad: The NEET-UG 2025 exam for MBBS admissions took place smoothly across Telangana on Sunday, without any major problems. The exam was held at 190 centres across the state.
More than 72,000 students appeared for the test. In Hyderabad alone, over 26,000 candidates took the exam at 62 centres, all of which were under strict security surveillance. The exam ran from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Candidates were allowed to enter the exam centres between 11 AM and 1:30 PM. However, some students reached late and were not permitted inside. At the Government Degree College in Siddipet, several students were turned away for arriving after the deadline.
One student mistakenly went to the wrong centre — Defense Laboratory School, Research Center Imarat — instead of her actual centre at Defense Laboratory School, Kanchanbagh. After realizing the error, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police BV Satyanarayana and ACP Maheshwaram stepped in. They arranged for her transport from Balapur Police Station to the correct venue. Thanks to their quick action, she was able to take the exam on time. The student and her parents expressed heartfelt thanks to the police officers.
Unfortunately, not every student was as lucky. Many missed the exam due to late arrival. Officials reported 26 absentees in one district, 17 in Medak, and 98 in another area.
Despite these issues, authorities confirmed the NEET-UG 2025 exam was conducted peacefully and under tight security across the state.
