The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ronald Rose, has suspended an officer for negligence in supervising the transport of ‘Praja Palana’ forms in Circle-3 Hayatnagar. The officer, M Mahender, was responsible for managing the applications for the five guarantee scheme. The applications were found on the road during transportation by the data entry agency.

The GHMC Commissioner ordered the immediate suspension of M Mahender for not performing his assigned duties properly. The suspension order was issued under Rule 8 of Telangana Civil Services (CC&A) Rules, 1991. According to the order, Mahender showed negligence and failed to supervise the transport of the forms. He will remain suspended until the disciplinary proceedings are concluded and is not allowed to leave headquarters without permission.

A viral video shows the applications falling out of a carton box that was being transported by agency staff on a two-wheeler. The applications scattered on the road in the Balanagar flyover. The person in the video claims that there are around 500 filled-in applications from the Hayathnagar area. They also claim that someone booked the consignment through a bike taxi, and they were only delivering it. Concerns are raised in the video about the security of the applications and data. The person in the video mentions that they were coming from the ECIL area.

Another viral video circulating on social media appears to show students taking the Praja Palana forms home for data entry. In addition, a photograph on social media shows the applications kept in a café. Meanwhile, the police have warned people about callers asking for their OTP (One-Time Password) to provide them with government scheme benefits. They advise not to fall for such scams and clarify that no official will call anyone to share their OTP.
