Hyderabad: Today marked the launch of the SITHA App, a new platform aimed at empowering women by providing flexible work opportunities based on their skills. Mr. Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries, unveiled the app.
Jhansi Reddy Hanumandla, a US entrepreneur and philanthropist, alongside Sarita Venkatesh from Wipro, attended the event at Trident Hyderabad.
Swathi Nelabhatla, the founder of SITHA App and SheJobs, shared her mission for women’s financial independence through this initiative.
Nelabhatla expressed, “SITHA is a movement aimed at allowing women to balance their careers with family life. We aim for every woman to earn independently using her skills.”
Minister Sridhar Babu praised the women involved, emphasizing, “Empowerment is crucial for societal progress. Telangana should be a place where women can pursue dreams without compromise.”
Film director Harish Shankar and actress Sree Leela also supported the initiative.
SITHA App is a women-focused platform offering various services and products, enabling women to monetize their skills. It includes features like secure payments and skill-building support, making it the first exclusive gig marketplace for women in India.
Many skilled women face underemployment due to inflexible work conditions. SITHA addresses this by offering over 200 million women in India access to diverse job opportunities, aiming to empower 1 million women entrepreneurs by 2027.
