Superintendent of Police K Rakshita Murthy has launched a childcare centre-worksite school for brick kiln workers in Mettupalli village. This new center will provide education for 49 children between the ages of three and six, who previously worked alongside their parents in carrying bricks.
The children at the worksite school will now have the opportunity to wear proper school uniforms and attend classes. They were thrilled to receive uniforms, slates, books, pencils, and pens. The classes at the center are being conducted by volunteers trained in multi-grade teaching by the NGO Aid at Action.
The NGO is providing various essential items like books, school bags, shoes, uniforms, and writing materials for the children. The Child Development Project Office is also making sure that the children receive nutritious food like pulses, rice, eggs, and ‘balamrutam’.
The launch event was attended by staff from the NGO, CDP, and the local police department. Wanaparthy DSP Venkateswar Rao, along with other police officers and SHE Team staff, were present at the launch to show their support for this initiative.
