Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has assured citizens that there is absolutely no shortage of petrol, diesel, or domestic LPG in the state. The minister urged people to avoid panic buying, stating that fuel supplies are abundant and the state maintains sufficient stocks to meet demand. His statement comes amid concerns raised by residents across Telangana about potential fuel scarcity.

The minister revealed that Telangana currently holds three months of petroleum product stocks, ensuring uninterrupted supply to consumers. On Wednesday, the state recorded a fuel demand of 17,246 kiloliters, while suppliers delivered 17,898 kiloliters the same day. This resulted in an excess supply of 652 kiloliters over the actual demand, demonstrating the state’s robust fuel distribution system.

According to official data, daily fuel demand has witnessed a 25 percent spike due to panic buying by consumers. Despite this surge, authorities are maintaining supply levels at 22 percent above average to ensure no citizen faces inconvenience. The government has arranged an additional buffer stock of 16,000 kiloliters and deployed 1,200 extra tankers to keep fuel stations adequately stocked across the state.

In Hyderabad alone, 596 petrol bunks are currently operational and receiving regular supplies. The extensive network of fuel stations ensures that residents in the capital city and surrounding areas have easy access to petroleum products. Authorities are closely monitoring the distribution network to prevent any disruptions in supply chains.

The government has also launched a crackdown on the misuse of commercial LPG cylinders. During recent enforcement operations, authorities seized 2,952 commercial LPG cylinders that were being illegally diverted or misused. This action aims to ensure that commercial LPG supplies are used for their intended purposes and do not create artificial shortages in the domestic market.

At the national level, India maintains a Strategic Petroleum Reserve sufficient for 60 to 65 days, providing an additional safety net against any potential supply disruptions. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized that with such comprehensive stock arrangements at both state and national levels, there is no justification for panic buying or hoarding of fuel products.
