Many NRIs and some Telangana natives living in other states came to Hyderabad to vote in the Lok Sabha elections. The city had a low turnout, but these individuals made the journey from places like the United States, London, Oman, Singapore, and different parts of India to participate in the democratic process.
Vishu Kalavala, an advocate from Washington DC, said he visits Hyderabad specifically to vote in every election, including the Assembly election. He believes it is his responsibility to uphold democracy by returning to his homeland to participate in the democratic process.
Spurthi, an IT employee from London, took leave from work to travel to Hyderabad and cast her vote. She sees herself as Indian first and foremost, not just someone living abroad, and feels it is her duty to fulfill her responsibilities by voting.
Ramanjeet Singh, an IT employee who was posted in Pune for two months, made sure to come to Hyderabad to cast his vote because he believes every vote counts.
