The police stopped a candlelight rally in Hyderabad organized by Congress and NSUI leaders to support Marri Pravallika. Pravallika, a 23-year-old who wanted a government job, allegedly committed suicide after the cancellation of the TSPSC Group II exams.

NSUI State president Balmoor Venkat was arrested at Indira Park, while M Anil Kumar Yadav, the party’s Musheerabad incharge, was taken into custody from Secunderabad. The leaders expressed their sadness over Pravallika’s death and blamed the TSPSC and the State government for mishandling the competitive exams. They believe that the government’s negligence cost Pravallika her dreams and a promising future.
