The Chief Minister of Hyderabad, A Revanth Reddy, has instructed officials to develop the Musi Riverfront within the next three years. In the initial phase, the officials will focus on developing a 55 km stretch of the Musi riverfront within the limits of Hyderabad.

During a review meeting with HMDA officials, the CM suggested selecting an iconic design that would cater to people from all walks of life. The design should include amenities such as amusement parks, waterfalls, children’s water sports, street vendors, business areas, and shopping malls, to provide convenience for all sections of the population.

The officials were instructed to study riverfront development projects in other states and foreign countries for inspiration. They were also given a deadline of three months to begin the necessary work. Additionally, measures will be taken to divert rainwater into the Musi River to manage sudden floods.

The meeting also addressed any potential obstacles in the development of the Musi riverfront. As part of this project, a tourism circuit will be created by connecting historical buildings like Charminar and Taramati Baradari with other tourist attractions along the Musi catchment areas. The CM urged officials to prepare plans for this project in public-private partnership mode.
