Hyderabad is getting ready for the big Ganesh idol immersion event, known as ‘Shobha Yatra’. This main procession will take place on Saturday. Preparations are underway by the police, GHMC, and other departments. On Wednesday, officials reviewed the 19 km route from Balapur Ganesh Mandapam to Tank Bund.

A team from various government departments joined the inspection. Key figures included Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand, GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, and others. They checked the route to ensure everything was in place for a smooth event.

C V Anand emphasized the need for coordination among officers. Preparations have been ongoing for a month in anticipation of the Ganesh festival. He mentioned that central forces are in the city and are conducting a March Fast drill. Based on past experiences, idol immersion can take at least 40 hours. Early starts by mandap organizers could shorten this time. He asked the public to cooperate with the police. Officials checked height restrictions and clearances along the route. C V Anand announced that about 30,000 police officers will be on duty, including Quick Response Teams, Dog Squads, Anti-Chain Snatching Teams, and SHE Teams.
