Ranga Reddy district officials are taking action to improve conditions at government hostels and residential schools. The move comes after authorities found illegal drugs in several facilities and grew worried about rising drug use among students.
Additional Collector Srinivas announced new measures during a Monday meeting. He wants special officers in each mandal to start awareness programs immediately. These programs will teach students about the dangers of drug use while they focus on their studies.
The administration plans to catch the problem early by educating young students. Officials will explain how drugs harm health and interfere with learning. They also want to improve overall conditions in government-run hostels.
Srinivas held discussions with welfare officers from SC, ST, BC, and Minority communities. Regional Collector Officers and District Collector Officers from Gurukuls also attended the meeting. They talked about food safety, teaching methods, nutrition, cleanliness, and health services.
The government wants to provide better education in these hostels. Plans include improved classroom management, modern teaching methods, and technical training. Officials also promise to focus more on student health, cleanliness, and proper nutrition.
Srinivas told officials they must take their responsibilities seriously. He ordered regular medical checkups for all students. Each student will get a health profile card to track their medical condition over time.
Food quality is another major concern. All vegetables and meals served in hostels must meet high standards. The collector promised uninterrupted power supply during night hours. He also demanded better sanitation in hostel buildings and surrounding areas.
Special officers, tehsildars, and MPOs must inspect hostels regularly. Srinivas warned that any official who neglects their duties will face strict punishment. The new measures aim to create safer, healthier environments for students living in government residential facilities.
