271 km of roads to be constructed; RRR northern section gets Rs.15,627 crore allocation
Hyderabad, November 18, 2025 – The Central Government has given the green signal for the construction of four National Highways in Telangana this fiscal year, with a total investment of Rs. 10,034 crore spanning 271 kilometers.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved tenders for highways connecting Armoor-Jagtial, Jagtial-Karimnagar, Jagtial-Mancherial, all under National Highway status. Additionally, the tender for the Mahabubabad-Garla-Gudabellur highway was called last month.
Construction work on these four National Highways is expected to commence in February after the tender process is completed following the ongoing Janmabhoomi programme.
Hybrid Annuity Model for Construction
NHAI has proposed that the Jagtial-Mancherial highway be constructed under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model. The remaining three highways will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
Approved Highway Projects:
Armoor-Jagtial National Highway: 64 km length with Rs.2,398 crore investment. Total land acquisition required: 288.3 hectares.
Jagtial-Karimnagar Highway: 59 km length with Rs.2,484 crore investment. Land acquisition required: 306.7 hectares.
Jagtial-Mancherial Highway: 68 km length with Rs.2,550 crore investment. Land acquisition required: 317 hectares.
Mahabubabad-Garla-Gudabellur Highway: 80 km length with Rs.2,662 crore National Highway construction. Land acquisition required: 465.7 hectares.
All four projects require land acquisition, utility shifting, and railway approvals to be completed.
RRR Northern Section Gets Rs.15,627 Crore
In another major development, the Regional Ring Road (RRR) northern section has been approved with an investment of Rs.15,627 crore covering six packages.
The northern section of the RRR will stretch from Gajwel to Sangareddy district’s Girmapur in Yadadri district to Tangadpalli in Yadadri district, covering a total of 161 km. Tenders worth Rs.7,104 crore have been called to construct four complete packages.
According to traffic surveys, six rows will be constructed initially, with provisions to expand to eight rows later. A total of 160 km will be developed with Rs.15,627 crore investment across six packages. In the previous tender system at Bindla, this session’s Assembly has announced the HAM method.
These infrastructure projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity across Telangana and boost economic development in the region.
