On World Blood Donor Day, Osmania General Hospital hosted an awareness walk to emphasize the importance of donating blood. Partnering with Nirmaan Organisation, DRDL, and the Medicos Blood Donor Club, the hospital also organized donation camps under the initiative called Operation Sindoor. This effort aims to tackle the common summer shortages of blood, ensuring that patients have access when needed.

Over the past years, Osmania Hospital has focused on educating young people in Hyderabad about blood donation. In 2024, it held about 40 camps, followed by 27 more in 2025, showing its ongoing dedication to community awareness and engagement.

The Blood Centre at Osmania General Hospital is recognized as one of the largest in Telangana, collecting around 10,000 units each year. It supports crucial departments like plastic surgery, surgical gastroenterology, and nephrology, which are essential for transplant patients. Additionally, during emergencies, the centre provides blood to the Government Maternity Hospital, MNJ Cancer Hospital, and Chest Hospital.
